On October 29, 2024, the Senate of the Republic of Poland adopted a resolution declaring the year 2025 as the Year of Rev. Prof. Józef Tischner — an outstanding Pole, philosopher, priest, and academic teacher. The resolution was prepared by the Senate Committee on Culture and Media and was adopted unanimously.

“Józef Tischner, as an eminent figure of Polish philosophy and spirituality, built bridges throughout his life between various communities and intellectual currents. His work and legacy hold value both in religious and secular contexts, and his philosophy of man and solidarity remains an inspiration in many contemporary debates,” reads the justification of the resolution.

On this occasion, at the initiative of the Tischner Roads Association (Stowarzyszenie Drogami Tischnera), the exhibition Tischner – Experience 2025 was created as the hallmark of the Tischner Year. It offers an experience of the person and philosophy of Rev. Prof. Józef Tischner. The spatial installation forms symbolize key themes of his thought — among others from Philosophy of Drama, Thinking According to Values, and Ethics of Solidarity — inviting visitors to interact, reflect, and personally engage.

Selected exhibition artifacts engage viewers on the level of animation and interaction as well, reflecting Tischner’s idea of dialogue and community building. Multimedia solutions allow visitors to experience Tischner’s presence — to hear his voice, recognize his distinctive gestures, smile, speech melody, as well as biographical threads and his presence in popular culture.

The exhibition is primarily aimed at those not yet familiar with Tischner’s work — it serves as an impression that encourages reaching for his texts and drawing inspiration from his thought.

The title Tischner – Experience 2025 emphasizes that the exhibition attempts to capture the presence and significance of the Polish philosopher 25 years after his death.
