A very warm, heartfelt, highlander-style atmosphere accompanied yesterday’s opening of the exhibition “Tischner – Experience 2025” at the Palace of Culture and Science in Warsaw. That’s exactly how its protagonist, Rev. Prof. Józef Tischner, was – open to people and dialogue.
The exhibition, right in the heart of Warsaw, can be visited free of charge until the end of August, daily from 10:00 a.m. to 6:00 p.m. We encourage you to stop by and see for yourself why it’s worth it – and to start, we invite you to watch our coverage of the opening.
The evening began with a curatorial tour of the exhibition. The creators – Dr. Bernadeta Cich, responsible among others for the visual-spatial concept, and Dr. Przemysław Bukowski, author of the philosophical texts – showed how to “read” the exhibition in order to truly come closer to Tischner’s figure. They pointed out interesting details, spoke about interactive elements, and shared behind-the-scenes insights into the work on the project.
The true heart of the evening, however, were the highlander posiady – with music performed by the Trebunia-Tutka family band and flavors of Podhale prepared by the women of the Rural Housewives’ Circle from Łopuszna. The ladies not only hosted all the guests but also charmed with their warmth, smiles, and shared singing.
A particularly special moment came with the memories surrounding Tischner’s mountain hut, which filled the Marble Hall. Stories were shared by Kazimierz Tischner, the philosopher’s brother, as well as participants of the gathering, who spoke about their own encounters and experiences with the professor-priest.
